Louisville Fund A Student Foundation public explainer. This page turns student-access support into plain language for donors, students, families, and community partners.
Why Categories Matter
Donors, students, and community partners need clear language for support. A category map helps LFAS explain what support may be connected to without turning need into a promise.
Access Costs
Support may relate to documented education barriers such as books, tools, fees, supplies, or other practical entry costs. The category does not mean every request can or will be funded.
Continuity Needs
A student may be close to progress and still face transportation, schedule, family, or short-term hardship barriers. Continuity support should be handled with documentation and privacy.
Readiness Support
Some support is not cash. Plain-language education, records, source links, and confidence-building can help families make clearer decisions.
Stewardship Controls
Support should be documented, privacy-respecting, and honest. Donors deserve clarity, and students deserve dignity.
